    Benjamin AdamsBenjamin's Story
    Benjamin Adams, along with friends Bradley and Zoe, trained as peer mentors at their school and formed the ‘Friendly Faces’ group to tackle issues that arose in the playground. They were motivated to make sure every pupil had a good time during break and lunchtime, and they received in-house training from the school’s Learning Mentor. (more...)

    Vanessa Natasha JackVanessa's Story
    Vanessa Natasha Jack worked hard as a playground friend at St Joseph’s RC School in Bonnybridge, where she supported and mentored other pupils who needed her help. 

    For her selflessness, Vanessa’s teachers nominated her for a Diana Award, which then inspired her to become a buddy to new pupils and also a monitor on the school bus. (more...)

    When Emma Campbell received her Diana Award, she reminded us why it is so important to thousands of young people across the UK: “it helps you to open your eyes that little bit more to see and notice more things that are happening right around you.     Paul CowanPaul's Story
    Paul Cowan is a member of a group of Peer Advocates (The Solving Squad) who support pupils experiencing problems in school. They give up their time to provide one-to-one support and advice, and they are also trained to support children who appear to be lonely or unhappy at break times. (more...)

    Bradley HaleBradley's Story
    Bradley Hale was one of three primary-age pupils who trained as peer mentors at their school. Together they formed the “Friendly Faces” group to tackle bullying in the playground, giving up their lunchtimes to help out. (more...)

    Katarina Constantinou Katarina's Story
    The Diana Award generates a huge variety of opportunities for its holders, including for Katarina Constantinou who was recognised for setting up the anti-bullying Buddy Scheme at Chesterfield High School. When her success was featured in the local press, she was offered a voluntary job with Sefton Youth Offending Team and a paid, one-year advocacy position with Changemakers, both of which gave her the chance to help and inspire more people.     Sometimes, finding out more about the Diana Award is what spurs Award Holders to develop as individuals. One such was Maxine Broadfoot who received the Award for the peer counselling work she did at school, helping fellow students and giving them advice if they were being bullied, had problems at home or at school, or were troubled by difficulties with homework, friends or stress.     Six young people at Windrush Primary School represent each year group as school council members. They listen to the other children's concerns (and pass them on), work with the playground buddies and staff to make sure everyone is happy in the playground and help to resolve minor issues.     David de BieDavid's Story
    It’s not often that a young person’s work gives them the chance to influence the Prime Minister, but that’s exactly what happened to David de Bie after he received the Diana Anti-Bullying Award. David was bullied at primary school and during his early days at secondary school, and not only overcame the problem but went on to thrive as a peer supporter, supporting scores of students with their friendship and bullying problems.
