Benjamin's Story
Benjamin Adams, along with friends Bradley and Zoe, trained as peer mentors at their school and formed the ‘Friendly Faces’ group to tackle issues that arose in the playground. They were motivated to make sure every pupil had a good time during break and lunchtime, and they received in-house training from the school’s Learning Mentor.
The Friendly Faces meet weekly, and they’re working on a new system of buddies and peer mentors. Benjamin is now a school prefect, and also trains Year 3 mentors – a rewarding job. When he received the Diana Award for his work, he was thrilled: “It’s a special personal achievement to be proud of.”
