Chelsee's Story
Chelsee Gill got involved in the Torpoint Youth Campaign and has worked very hard to draw attention to the fact that there was a need for better youth provision in her local area. She helped with a successful £100,000 bid to fund better facilities and she also gave up her time to support young people in school through the peer mentor service. (more...)
Philip's Story
None other than the Mayor of Salford presented Philip Riddell with his Diana Award, in recognition of his work for Moorside High’s school council. During his time on the council, Philip helped to raise £2,074 for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, got involved with organisating several shows for elderly people, and took part in a variety of events such as the “Walk of Witnesses”, which culminates at the school every year. Jonathan's Story
Jonathan Lowe got a nasty shock when he walked into his headteacher’s office and found his mother and father sitting inside – he thought he was in trouble!
Instead he was told he’d been nominated for the Diana Award – well deserved recognition for all the work he’d done on behalf of the Bubble Appeal Foundation, including the effort he’d put in to encourage the 18th Gateshead Boys’ Brigade to hold sponsored and fundraising events. (more...)

That’s what happened to Emma O’Brien when she first got involved with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award: within a few months of joining, she found herself on a canal boat supporting five young people who had a variety of learning disabilities. Libby's Story
Although Libby is still 12 years old, she has packed a lot into each and every one of them. In 2001 she won a national cookery competition, met Gary Rhodes and toured his restaurant. Between 2001 and 2003 she won the Youth Trophy at the Burley Village Show, becoming the only person ever to win it three times in succession. (more...)
Saima's Story
The skills Diana Award Holders develop when helping other people soon win them fresh, and often unexpected opportunities. When a group of pupils including Saima Tarapdar raised money to combat racism by organising a talent show, they soon found themselves advertising tickets, selecting acts, preparing the school hall and doing all the other tasks needed to organise a successful evening.
